My Resolve
“My Resolve”
As each day dawns I often pause
to think of days now past.
From childhood on through later years
Oh, how they’ve gone so fast.
I’ve no time now to turn around,
My life speeds quickly on.
While in the face of reality
It’s clear ’twill soon be gone.
I must resolve to choose the course
that gives sweet peace of mind.
My life I place in God’s strong hands.
I leave the past behind.
No better road can any trod,
So wonderful and blest.
A road that leads me home to God
and everlasting rest!
Should my life end before He comes
to split the eastern skies,
I want to be among the ones
appointed first to rise.
When in that final day we stand
no more this race to run,
My sole desire is that I hear,
Enter in my child, Well done!
